Motorcycle Tour - Diego-Suarez & Nosy-Be

Along with the fun on the road comes the fun in the trail. Lightweight machines with medium displacement allow you to get as close as possible to nature in national parks and reserves. Look forward to Tsingy National Park, Canal des Pangalanes, Nosy Be, Isalo with Ranomafana National Park, Ankarana and Montagne d'Ambre National Parks and many other wonders of Malagasy nature.

 On this dirt road tour we will show you the main attractions in the north of Madagascar. From your motorcycle comfortably experience the diversity of landscapes along the route: majestic mountains and hills of the Highlands, mysterious abandoned bogs in the west, dry savannahs and white beaches on the coast. One full day you will discover fascinating region around Diego Suarez. At the end of the trip you will have a hard time saying goodbye: You will finish by experiencing the lush landscapes of the Mozambique Strait by boat and your motorcycle.

The tour program

Day 1: Antananarivo

Arrival at Ivato International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Antananarivo, where you will also spend the night.

Day 2: Antananarivo - Ankarafantsika

Route length: 440 km

In the morning you will meet your tour guide and have a first look at your enduro machine. During the first exit you leave the busy streets of "Tana" (as Antananarivo is called by the locals) directly onto National Road 4. You are surrounded by the mountains and rice fields of the Highlands. The descent into the dry prairies of the west is easy. At the end of the day you will find yourself in a dense pristine forest: Ankarafantsika is a nature reserve with a variety of endemic species. If you are lucky, you will see some mouse macaws, the smallest monkey species in the world. Dinner and overnight in the bungalow of the reserve.

Day 3: Ankarafantsika - Ankify

Route length: 520 km

A long day on the motorcycle awaits you. From Ankarafantsika you will gradually leave the deserted landscape of the west and enter a coastal landscape. Then you will ride along the Mozambique road to Ankify. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Ankify - Diego Suarez

Route length: 240 km

You will drive on the National Road 6 on a well-maintained asphalt road. As far as the eye can see, you are surrounded by forested savannah. In the distance you can see the majestic relief of the Ankarana Massif. You will end the day upon arrival in Diego Suarez with an unforgettable sunset over the bay. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Diego Suarez

Route length: 200 km

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, you will explore the surroundings of Diego Suarez on a day tour. Whether the Amber Mountain National Park or the fishing village of Ramena with its white sandy beach: Madagascar will show you its diverse panorama from salt marshes to the "Pain du sucre", the "sugar loaf" in the bay of Diego Suarez. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Diego Suarez - Ankify

Route length: 240 km

Back on the road, you will once again experience the contrasts of the "red island": on the descent towards Nosy-Be you will see vast forested plains with bamboo, mango and banana trees and the relief of the Ankarana Mountains.

Day 7: Nosy-Be

Route length: 100 km

It's going to be fast-paced: In the early morning you will take a speedboat from Nosy-Be to the lemur islands of Nosy and Tanikely. Dare: On Tanikely you can discover dazzling underwater worlds with surgeonfish, pufferfish and groupers while snorkeling. The coral gardens reach almost to the beach. After lunch on the beach, you will return to Nosy-Be. You will get on your motorcycle and experience Mount Passot. From the top you will have the most beautiful overview of the island world. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Nosy-Be - Antananarivo (Transfer)

Depending on the departure time of your flight to Antananarivo, you can once again enjoy the fantastic beaches of the island. A cab will take you to the airport for your return flight to Antananarivo. Here ends our service for you.

Logistics

Your guide is an experienced biker and familiar with every millimeter of the route. He will coordinate the escort team of mechanics and riders, guaranteeing your safety and the smooth running of all sections.

Groups with more than five participants will be accompanied throughout the tour by a 4*4 vehicle that will transport all the luggage of the participants as well as the necessary equipment and tools. The vehicle can also accommodate the (pre-registered) people who accompany the tour without motorcycle.
